Okay, so in the downloads folder you will find a markdown file that has just been downloaded, which is the final version of a philosophy paper about the aesthetics of engineering that I have submitted to an edited volume. Below in this message you will see two things. You'll see an old abstract uh I submitted before I wrote the paper. And then you'll see some emails um that I just recently got from the two people who are organising the publication of this book, can you tell me what the emails are asking me to do? And can you tell me how close I am to having all the stuff they need from me?
old abstract:"This paper applies Carlson's concept of order appreciation—originally developed to
explain the aesthetic appreciation of nature—to engineering. Carlson contends that
appreciating nature involves understanding the forces—such as gravity,
electromagnetism, and biological processes—and natural laws that create order in
natural objects. Lowe argues that machines operate according to engineering laws,
which he describes as specific applications of natural laws like mechanics and
thermodynamics, and considers these engineering laws as a subset of natural laws with
objective, mind-independent reality. This establishes a link between the natural
principles governing both natural and engineered systems. By combining these ideas,
we suggest that the aesthetic appreciation of engineered objects involves recognising
how natural laws shape their operation and structure. Understanding engineering
principles and the natural laws they reflect allows us to appreciate the order present in
machines, similar to how scientific knowledge informs our appreciation of natural
phenomena. This approach indicates that appreciating engineered objects is not solely
about their design but also about the natural laws they exemplify. Thus, the aesthetic
appreciation of engineering is somewhat similar to the appreciation of nature, as both
involve an understanding of the natural laws that underpin the object's form and
function."

Dear Authors of our co-edited volume “Accompanying Aesthetics. Going Along Philosophy of Art Towards Other Disciplines”,
With Max we are please to write you that the preparations of the volume is proceeding well.
After we submitted the manuscript to Bloomsbury, we got a very positive review and now the publisher is ready to proceed with the next steps of the publication.
At this stage however, there is a new request from the publisher (that was not required before, hence we could not ask you to do it earlier). We would like to kindly ask you a max. 150-word abstract and 5-10 keywords for your chapters. Let us copy here the guidelines received from the publisher:
Abstracts
Chapter abstracts should give an overview of the content of each chapter, including the introduction and conclusion, in no more than 150 words per chapter.
Where possible please use an impersonal voice rather than personal pronouns.
Keywords
Please suggest between five and ten keywords for each chapter. Keywords are equivalent to terms in an index in a printed work. They should distinguish the most important ideas, names and concepts in the book or chapter. Keywords are generally single words, though two and three-word specialist terms may be used. Each keyword should also appear in the abstract. It is acceptable to draw a keyword from the book or chapter title, but it must also appear in the text of the abstract.
Needless to say, you can use your old abstract that you submitted to us at the beginning of this project, however, please check, and if they are longer than 150 words, please, shorten them. Of course, also if your chapter has since then been modified a bit, compared to the original old abstract, you need to update the abstract a bit so that it reflects the new version of the chapter better.
We would really appreciate if you could send us the abstract and keywords by Wednesday, 25 February.

Dear Authors,
Just a short addition to our email of yesterday (see below), concerning the urgent need for the 150-word abstracts and 5-10 keywords that was requested by the Publisher.
There is a requirement that may have skipped your attention (in fact, also for us it is a bit new): they would like that each keyword is a word (or 2-3-word special terms) that also appear in the abstract itself (see below, highlighted in red). So, please, make sure you choose such keywords.

Chapter 2: ‘The Authority of Civic Citizens’ by Anthony Simon Laden
Chapter keywords:
authority, democracy, civil citizenship, civic citizenship, command, connection, Arendt
Laden illustrates and extends Tully’s contrast between civil and civic citizenship in a survey of the field of authority. His claim is that while civil citizens invoke the authority of command, civic citizens invoke and construct what he terms an authority of connection. He defines this with reference to Arendt’s work on power as a result of speaking and acting together. Laden suggests that democratic authority has to be norm-governed, reciprocal and revisable and he shows how these features tend to push our conception of citizenship into the civil frame. But Tully’s definition of civic citizenship offers distinctly different possibilities for democracy. Civic citizens do not command one another, but hold open what they say to criticism, regarding their civic actions as calls for the response of others. Thus civic activity is reciprocal in a different way from the mutual commanding of civil action.
