# touch talk
Please see if you can work out what question I am gesturing at by referring to the transcrpt of the talk and my brief notes below this.
- what about phenomenology of agency?
- seems tied up with emotions, beliefs and desires anyway – we experience ourselves as acting for reasons.
- [[this seems]] particularly right for touch, but why? –very fine grained actions, proprioception seems to overlap with touch (bodily profile?)
- active vs passive seems important in this context.
- the agentive experience of skillfully using objects
- 'motivational elements'
- tool use = active rather than passive touch
- could oyu build quite a rich aesthetics of tool use
- is [[the question]], why didn't you put things in phenomenology of agency terms, it seems like it would enrich your view, easier to make the motivational aspectes more obviously salient in experience. I am not sure.
