**Opening (not a real abstract):** This book so far was about distributed attention and the various roles it plays in all kinds of aesthetic phenomena. The aim of this last chapter is to highlight important ways of engaging with artworks and other entities aesthetically where our attention is not at all distributed. I argued in Chapter 2 that distributed attention is a crucial feature of aesthetic experiences. But aesthetic experiences are not the only kind of experiences aesthetics is about. Aesthetics has a lot to say about phenomena like identification with a character, experiences of narratives, engagement with fiction, catharsis and so on. None of these experiences are, in the sense of the term I used, aesthetic experiences and none of these experiences typically involve distributed attention. In fact, the point could be made that what
