# Powerless Powers in a Fixed Future **Opening (not a real abstract):** During this chapter I will discuss the consequences that arise from the combination of dispositionalism and eternalism. My thesis is that these two theories are at odds. My argument is made of two distinct parts. The first part shows that dispositionalism and eternalism have two opposite conceptions of change. The second part shows that they have two different accounts for what it means to be possible. The upshot is that the combination of dispositionalism and eternalism is doomed to fail.
