# Research_plan **Opening (not a real abstract):** Research Proposal: Perception, Imagination, and Action [BETTER TITLE?] Nick Wiltsher draft The proposed project pursues a view of sensory imagination according to which such experiences are constituted by intentional content similar to that of perception. The strategy is to concentrate on the spatial elements of imaginative experiences, with the aim of arguing that these are best explained in terms of intentional content. This contrasts with a putative enactive view of imagination. By the spatial elements of imagination, I mean the sense in which imagined objects, especially visualised objects, seem to occupy space (Jaspers 1946/1963, pp. 69-70; McGinn 2004, p. 117). The possibility that micro-physical or ‘kinaesthetic’ muscle movements constitute this imagined space is noted by Sartre (Sartre 1940/2004, pt.II §III).
