**Opening (not a real abstract):** Is predicting seeing? If perception depends on prior belief, does it follow that we perceive what we expect to perceive? Is our perceptual experience a product of our predictions, and if so, to what extent can our perceptions be anchored in our predictions rather than the states of affairs in the world? These are obviously important questions for the prediction error minimization framework. The framework says that perceptual experience depends on top-down prediction of sensory input, so it seems to imply that if the predictions change then the perceptual inference will change too, even if the input stays the same. But it is equally obvious that the final story cannot be a simple one. Not any old prediction will be able to determine perception, and no prediction can determine it fully.
