Premature classification before the reader has context. Also stylistically horrible. 2. **Self-conscious reformulation stacking**: "Not mimic it, or approximate it, but produce work that meets the discipline's own evaluative standards." Piling clarifications that sound like the writer is correcting themselves mid-sentence. 3. **False shared knowledge**: "The standard case against LLM reasoning goes roughly like this." Presupposes a shared understanding that doesn't exist. No one said "the standard case." 4. **"Something in the vicinity of" approximation prose**: Every sample sentence offered as an illustration of what Nick might write came out generic and wrong. 5. **Stark aphoristic claims presented as obvious**: "Philosophy produces its contributions in text. Papers are not reports of discoveries made elsewhere; they are the discoveries." Nick: "this is not a sentence I would ever write." 6. **Using someone else's example as the paper's entry point**: The smoke/fire example is Floridi's. Opening with it makes the paper sound like a commentary on Floridi rather than its own argument. 7. **Conflating the sources' scope with the paper's scope**: [[Floridi]] and [[Zahavy]] are about LLMs in general, NOT about LLMs and philosophy.
