**Opening (not a real abstract):** The Department of Philosophy seeks to appoint a three-year fixed-term, full-time lectureship, tenable from 1 October 2016, which arises from a Leverhulme Senior Research Fellowship award to Professor Stephen Mumford. The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent and a strong publication record. His/her principal research interest will be in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind, and he/she will be able to provide high quality research-led teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in these areas. The successful applicant will also take on some administrative responsibilities, and will be expected to contribute to the lively research culture of the Department.
