We certainly seem like we appreciate consciousness. Moreover, there is good reason to think that we aesthetically appreciate, rather than merely practically appreciate, consciousness. If one were to be turned into a full philosophical zombie à la Chalmers, then practically your life would be no different, but it is doubtful that this is an option anyone who isn't suicidal would choose, given the loss of phenomenal character.
